A series of workshops that are "Personal" so participants and speakers have the opportunity to interact in a more direct way - asking questions and getting answers from experts. These workshops cover a variety of topics to help new and existing businesses.

Sunrise Business Mastermind Meetings

Use of the latest technology (online marketing, video, social media, and database building) is required in all business. Each from 7:30 am to 8:30 am the Sunrise Business Mastermind meetings are held at the SCORE office in Palm Desert where the latest technology tools will be introduced and explained so that they can be effectively incorporated into your business. The charge is a nominal $5 per session with Score providing coffee and donuts.

Business Management Classes

SCORE presents SMART ABOUT BUSINESS - a series of 5 classes for anyone considering, starting or growing a business. Sessions presents information and skills, which are specific to each person's business including 1) Business Planning; 2) Mastering the Financials; 3) Legal Structures / Business Systems; 4) People and Work; 5) Sales and Marketing.

Round robin classes will be offered at 9 am - Noon Wednesday mornings at CVEP in Palm Springs, and 6 pm -9 pm Wednesday evenings in the Palm Desert SCORE office. $75 charge includes listening guides & 150+ page business manual.

Yet you know video is the most powerful communication tool we have available...and you also know that if you keep resisting it, others in your field who embrace it will get further and further ahead, while you get a smaller and smaller piece of the business!

Kinda bleak...until now.

This advanced course is for the company who has someone(s) they want to dedicate as their video online marketer or the entrepreneur who runs their own business, so they can produce fresh unique and relevant content and continue to drive new customers, while also creating incredibly valuable follow up to already existing customers.

What is the course all about?

It will be a four part series that when finished the participant will be able to not only understand "how to" create a video, but to also know how to get it "out there" so others can see it and take action.

Part 1:
Capture - in the first class you will, with a hands on approach, see how you can create for your specific product, service or industry, a repeatable attractive approach to building your video library that can serve you for years to come, when done right.

  • Make powerful videos without being on camera
  • What type of camera to use for online video
  • What type of lighting should I use
  • Should I shoot indoors or out...

And if outdoors is there a best time of day...and more.

Part 2:
Edit - this is where the magic happens. So from your first class, where you not only saw how to, but actually shot a video, as well as one for homework, we will edit it using free tools, that are at first intimidating, but with a little practice, you'll be a wiz.

  • Adding titles
  • How to brand your video in editing
  • Should I add music for background or not?
  • Tips to make sure people find your video

Part 3:
Upload - where, after you're done shooting and editing your videos, where should they go so people can view them? Is YouTube the best, or Vimeo, no maybe self hosting? We cover all of this so when we're done with this class it's no longer a mystery.

  • Making sure it has been rendered properly so it will play online
  • What is rendering?
  • How to title your videos for success
  • What are tags and why these are critical and more...

Part 4:
Distribution - we could have called this marketing, and yet like all good ideas, whether product or service, without distribution you have no traction to build momentum. You can make incredible videos, but unless people see them, it's a waste of time.

  • What's a landing page and how do I create one?
  • What's an opt-in and what should I ask for to increase success
  • Who should I share my video with for maximum benefits and ROI
  • Which social media platforms are right for my videos
